The first thing that comes to mind when you think of Rumplestiltskin may be a short tempered little man who stomps through ceilings. Once Upon a Time has completely transformed his role into a dark but tension relieving character. He is full of complexity and motivated by both love and fear. He is not a "good" guy, but there are moments when he is generous. He is motivated by what is best for him and knows more than everyone else how to achieve his own gain. He manipulates people without them realizing it and feels no guilt in turning a butcher into a pig if a deal is broken. Now, I know he sounds pretty rough, but he never breaks his deals; he must have a strong sense of honor. Not to mention, he has spent the last 300 years trying to find his son.
